Middle Leadership Roles in Scottish Schools
Middle leaders often have formal positions of responsibility in a school and they do a lot of work to make schools more effective places of learning, but the nature of their roles has not been widely researched. The aim of this survey is to explore in more detail the work middle leaders actually do in Scotland.  We expect the findings will be useful for middle leaders and for schools more generally.  Education Scotland are working on this research with Dr John De Nobile, from Macquarie University, Australia, whose work you might be familiar with.  The survey should take 10 minutes to complete.

Your answers will be treated in the strictest confidence, and all data disclosed will comply with the Data Protection Act 2018.  Education Scotland are collecting this information using Formic survey software.  The data you provide will be anonyomous and none of the data you provide will be used to identify you.  The data will be collated for analysis and reporting purposes only.  Within Education Scotland, responses will be stored securely in a restricted access folder on the Education Scotland document management system.  Summarised responses and anonymised quotes may be used by Education Scotland and Dr John de Nobile (Macquarie University) in internal and external reports.  The results of this research will be made publically available.  For further information about how your data will be used and your rights please see the Education Scotland Privacy Policy.
