Equality and Diversity Monitoring
Education Scotland aims to have an inclusive environment for all participants, by identifying and removing barriers in our practices. Completing this monitoring form will help us achieve this, and also help Education Scotland meet our obligations under the Equality Act 2010. This monitoring form contains questions which aim to gather sensitive personal data such as ethnic origin, religious belief, health and sexual orientation.  While it is voluntary to disclose this information, doing so will enable us to better understand the composition of applicants to our Programmes and fully examine our practices. Completing this question is entirely voluntary and all responses are anonymous.

We would also like to develop networks and support events in relation to protected characteristics.  If you are interested in finding out more about this please email us at

How will responses will be collected and stored?

We are collecting this information using Formic. Responses will be stored securely in a restricted access folder on the Education Scotland document management system. Only relevant Education Scotland staff will see responses. Summarised responses and anonymised quotes may be used in our (Education Scotland) internal and external reports.

Your answers will be treated in the strictest confidence, and all data disclosed will be handled, processed and stored in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.  None of the data you provide will be used to identify you and the data will be collated for analysis and reporting purposes only.  For further information about how your data will be used and your rights please see the Education Scotland Privacy Policy.
